Agriculture Animal Science Program of Study
The Animal Science program of study focuses on the science, research, and business of animals and other living organisms. It teaches students how to apply biology and life science to real-world life processes of animals and wildlife, either in laboratories or in the field, which could include a veterinary office, a farm or ranch, or any outdoor area harboring animal life. Students may also research and analyze the growth and destruction of species and research or diagnose diseases and injuries of animals. Students taking this program also are in Future Farmers of America (FFA).
Principles of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources - 9th grade, 1 Credit, (Prerequisite: None)
Small Animal Management - 10th Grade - .5 Credit (Prerequisite: None)
Equine Science - 10th Grade - .5 Credit (Prerequisite: None)
Veterinary Medical Applications w/ Agricultural Lab - 11th or 12 Grade, 2 Credit (Prerequisite: Equine Science, Small Animal Management)
Advanced Animal Science - 12th Grade 1 Credit (Prerequisite: Biology, Chemistry, and Equine Science)
