Congratulations to our Starrific Students and Terrific Teachers that were recognized this evening at the Starrific Celebration sponsored by South Texas News and Gulf Coast Growth Ventures! All students and teachers were recognized for setting high standards on their campuses this year and received awards for this honor. Huge shoutout to Ms. Trevino, our amazing Administrative Assistant! She’s the engine behind the scenes keeping everything running smoothly on our fast paced campus. From juggling a million tasks to keeping us all on track (and sane 😄), she handles it all with grace, patience, and a whole lot of hustle. We are beyond grateful for everything she does for our campus each and every day. Thank you for holding it all together, Ms. Trevino… we truly could not do this without you! 💚🐾

Our 6th graders are ready!! ⭐️👏🏻 Final STAAR test for the grade level is tomorrow!

Congratulations to our Taft HS Greyhound Band and Trevino JH Whippet Band who were recognized at our school board meeting this evening! Both bands earned straight Division 1 ratings in concert and sight reading contests. We are very proud of all band members and the directors for this awesome achievement! #TPND

Our Whippets and Greyhounds had an amazing time at Flute Day this Saturday at Texas A&M University–Kingsville! 🎶 Proud of our students for representing with talent, focus, and a love for music. Keep shining! 💚🐾

🌟You're Weekly Whippet Week at a Glance🌟

Ms. Vega's 7th grade students took part in an exciting and engaging class competition where each class became a district, working together to earn points through assignments, quizzes, and IXL progress. Students were randomly selected as tributes, and their effort and performance could help-or hurt- their district by protecting or costing lives. 🧐✏️ This challenge pushed students to stay accountable, support their team, and give their best effort every day. In the end, one district rose above the rest and earned victory (and pizza!) So proud of all their growth, teamwork, and determination shown by our students! 🍕👏🏻

Our 8th graders are about to make history!! Let's do this! ⭐️

The next two days are STAAR testing days for 8th grade. Be sure to be rested and be ready! ⭐️💪🏼

Informational Alert for Today:

At the request of the Sheriff's Office, Taft ISD is hosting San Patricio County Sheriff Oscar Rivera's Semi-Annual Safety Meeting (required by the legislature) at the THS Krumnow Center today beginning at 9 AM. Law Enforcement personnel and Superintendents from all of San Patricio County will be on the premises. We wanted to make the community aware as there will be many law enforcement vehicles at the high school. #TPND
