Purpose:
In September, Taft ISD will hold a second public meeting of its proposed sex education curriculum/program for middle school. The School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) has reviewed several sex education curriculum/programs. School Health Advisory Councils (SHACs) are volunteer groups of parents, community members, and school staff and are charged with ensuring that community values are reflected in health education. SHACs make recommendations on many areas of student health, including making recommendations to the school board on the sex education curriculum/program.
A public presentation of Living Well Aware from the Living Well Aware program will be presented on September 20, 2022, at the Taft ISD Board of Trustees meeting. The public meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at Taft High School.
